Abnormal Water Vapor Detection (AWVD™)

Abnormal Water Vapor Detection (AWVD™)
Off-gas Sensor
AMI products are compatible with these two Off-gas sensors:
- Laser Off-gas sensor: A laser-based sensor uses Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) measuring the absorption of laser light by specific gas molecules (O2, CO, CO2, H2O), directly retrieving gas temperature and their respective concentrations in real time.
- IR Off-gas sensor: A non-intrusive measurement device for CO, CO2, and H2O concentration, as well as gas flow and temperature. The latest technology on infrared light emission detection of the EAF exhaust gases.
AWVD™
Uses AI and machine learning to differentiate normal water amount in the Off-gas from abnormal water vapor levels, enabling early detection and prevention of potential issues.
- Detects abnormal water conditions as low as 10 GPM / 38 LMP.
- Sends warnings and alarms when the measured water vapor exceeds expected levels from the furnace.
- Provides real-time detection of abnormal water vapor for enhanced process and operator safety.
- Enables safer, more stable EAF operations, even under demanding conditions.
