We are proud to announce that AMI has been awarded a new project with one of the largest steel producers in North America at one of its Midwest facilities in Indiana. This project involves upgrading the control system of an 8,000 A CPE (Constant Potential Exciter) for the crane rectifier system on the 80-inch cold mill, enhancing system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Project Highlights
• Replacement of the existing redundant control system provided by AMI more than a decade ago.
• The new redundant system will not only simplify the configuration but also improve performance and functionality thanks to the Compact Ultra Hi Performance AMI’s ICC controllers—same technology used for Resonac’s Shuntei Devices
• SmartView Display for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, with enhanced diagnostic tools and ultra-high-speed monitoring and trending.
• The ICC will seamlessly interface with the current SCR triggering system. This is not just a straightforward migration path but also facilitates installation.
